Just Do It

I love this picture. John's outstretched hands as Jack turns the corner towards the stairs.

It's a pretty darn good reflection of day-to-day life with a 16-month-old.

Getting Ready for a Party....

....somebody is turning ONE in just a few short weeks. We thought we could share a few MILESTONES in anticipation of the big birthday!

Stands alone for a few seconds
Walks along furniture or tables
Climbed five stairs (before turning straight around and taking a nose dive into Dad)
Enjoying a bottle of whole milk each day
Says, "ma ma" "da da" (not necessarily to the right person all the time :-)
"ba" while pointing to bottle
"ba" while pointing to ball
Claps hands
Gives high fives
Points A LOT :-)
Sticks a finger up his nose :-)
Will hold up a finger if asked, "are you going to be one?"

9 Months

Many big milestones passed as Jack turned 9 months old last Saturday:

3 new teeth on top have appeared (he now has a total of 5)
Started eating dairy and pasta
Started crawling and is on the move all over the place. Loves opening drawers and cabinet doors.
Adding to his sounds of da-da and ba-ba...he is now saying wow!
Started feeding himself finger foods!
We are excited to see all the changes during the holiday season. Should be fun :-)

6 Months (almost...)

Happy 1/2 Birthday, Jack. Don't worry, I won't throw a big party celebration (yet). We are shocked how quickly these first 6 months have gone. Some exciting milestones have passed:

  • first tooth appeared last Tuesday

  • officially rolled over from front to back and back to front

  • loves his jumper
  • tried lots of yummy food: squash, sweet peas, applesauce, bananas, peaches and avocado (and in the not-so-yummy category: prunes. But, Jack ate 'em like a champ. I think he knew it would help in the -- uh um -- digestive area)
  • trying to sit on his own

4 Month Check-Up

Jack has his 4 months check up with our pediatrician today. I can't believe how fast these first 4 months have gone. It seems like yesterday we were bringing our little sweet pea home and now he is smiling up a storm, rolling from side to side, grabbing and holding on to everything (his favorite ball, my hair, etc) and becoming a little boy.

He is getting more shots today. Pray for us! I have Tylenol ready to go :)

Jack's First Rice Cereal

He did great and made some pretty hilarious faces during the whole process.
