Day Four: Happy St. Patrick's Day

Go Green! Happy to report it was a great night of sleep for us Three Amigos last night! So good, that we all woke up refreshed and remembered to wear our green. Jack's room is eating all green foods today so we also remembered to deliver our jar of pickles to his teachers this morning :)

Day Four: Out of bed at 6:04 am, left the house at 7:59 am! Wahoo!

Day Three: Sleepy

Will went to school in his PJs today (even though my little man slept for 12 1/2 hours last night! bless his heart) and Jack is running on about 4 hours of sleep. "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....."

Day Three: almost fell out of bed at 7:21 am, left the house at 8:55 am. Not good folks, not good :)

Day Two: The Share Bag

Why oh why, beloved daycare, do you have a SHARE BAG in the 3 year old room?

We are new to this room (he is in the Ladybug Room now, which explains his tight grip on the darling ladybug bag in the above picture. *Smile) and the share bag concept, but our first experience 2 weeks ago was no picnic. Jack began asking to take his toys to school with him in the morning about a year ago and we had to battle with him each morning, prying Buzz or Lighting McQueen out of his hands, after we received a note from daycare asking us NOT to bring toys to school. Now, the share bag ENCOURAGES kids to bring their toys from home! Really?

He took all things Buzz two weeks ago: Buzz Football, Buzz flashlight and Buzz nerf gun. Upon our arrival to class, he immediately pulled the football out of the share bag and threw to his "best friend" Lucas, almost clobbering a sweet little, pony-tailed girl in the noggin. Melt down quickly ensued when I asked him to pick up the football and return to the share bag, now hanging on the wall. It was a nightmare :)

So, you can imagine my excitement when I saw the share bag on his hook yesterday when I picked him up from school. I thought about ignoring the share bag and pretend we forgot, but Jack was having nothing of it. Fortunately, he must have remembered the trauma we both went through the last time and quickly placed the share bag on his hook this morning saying "I will leave it there momma until share time." :)

I have no idea what happened when I left, but I should have smiled and said "Good Luck!" to his teachers because he brought 6 cars, all Lightning McQueens, today. I bet his best friends Lucas and Luke would like to play with those cars, too. What say you now share bag????

Day Two: rolled out of bed a 6:22 am, pulled out of the garage a 8:21 am. Already pretty late. Hopefully we'll be better tomorrow!!!

Oh, and if you were wondering, don't you love Jack's awesome sunglasses? I bought those a few years ago for an ISU/IA game and when Daddy is out of town, Jack likes to imitate his mom. Better hurry home Dad or tomorrow Jack may learn all about the curling iron :)

Round Two

John left on Sunday for a week of work in St. Louis, so we spent the weekend gearing up for another wild week for this temporary family of 3 (plus Beatrice!)

Let's meet the Contenders!

In the far corner of the ring, we have Jack "The King" Mills. A fiesty 3 year old who loves his cars and Diego. He fights hard at bathtime and during morning shoe selection, but Coach knows his weaknesses well: fruit snacks and chocolate. He needed a little extra "coaching" this morning to get out the door, so he was thrown a bag of chewy goodness as a little extra energy boost. I predict The King will give me all he's got this week, but I'm ready. Bring it on, little man. Bring it on.

In the near corner of the ring, we have William "The Big Show" Mills. An ever-growing 6 month old, who is showing more and more of his personality in the ring everyday. The time change last night was rough and he fought hard when Coach tried to put him down at 7:30 pm (6:30 in his world), but he, too, didn't stand a chance at the Coach's secret weapon: a little bottle of warm milk. The Big Show is usually a quiet stallion in the ring, but fighters are worried this week as he learned how to scoot around the floor yesterday and causes the Coach to worry about his extra movement. We shall survive, we shall survive.

Good Luck, boys! You will need it; the Coach is going to try to make men out of you this week :)

Day One: rolled out of bed at 6:09 am, pulled out of the garage at 8:07 a.m. Not bad. Not too bad at all for Day One.

Madagascar LIVE!

Jack enjoyed his first experience to The Civic Center this morning for the matinee showing of Madagascar LIVE! It was a father/son experience (for SOME reason I thought John would want to be a part of Jack's first theatrical/musical experience. I wonder why I thought that?) I think Jack liked the show as I heard him talking to his giraffe this afternoon after nap, "Hi, Melman! Do you want to be my friend? Where's Alex?" Haha :)

Will and I enjoyed a little mother/son time, too! Goodwill Drop-off for some Younkers' coupons and a run to Target :)
