Our Lunch

John and I met for lunch today at an undisclosed location* (John has the day off - surprise, surpise - another federal holiday!) with Will as our guest. Lunchtime for Will also happened to land during our lunch. So, after Will downed a bottle in 42 seconds, John decided to attempt to discreetly change Will's diaper in the booth. Do you really think he had time to take the infant to the bathroom's changing table? I mean, c'mon, he had a bowl full of hot, creamy artichoke dip sitting right in front of him!


Bold move, sir. Bold move.


And, he definitely paid for his decision. His face (which I unfortunately did not capture on my cell phone) was priceless. John's that is. Although, Will's face was pretty funny, too. Happy as a lark to have just soaked Daddy in pee :)

Atlanta

I traveled to Atlanta last weekend for an American Bar Association meeting. It was one of the rare times I travel without any other colleagues from the firm for a business trip and I think I rocked "dinner for one." John was a little jealous when I told him that not only did I get to do a little sightseeing (toured CNN International Headquarters and Olympic Park), enjoyed some fine dining, and found time for some much needed workouts, but I also caught a matinee movie. Seeing a movie at the theater has become such a luxury for us, so I made sure to see one that John wouldn't mind missing. Isn't that thoughtful of me? Haha.

A Thing of Beauty

Well, I can't say that it is good. I can't even do that curly-q thing that people do with scissors on the ribbons (bow-ties will have to do). However, I can say that these v-day treats are finished...and I believe somewhat close to Lindsey's vision.

2 little monkeys, both sleeping in their beds (at the same time!)... It's a win, people!

Things can get a little messy when Mom is not around....

Lindsey left for Hot-lanta yesterday for work and left me with these 2 jokers. Needless to say, things have gotten messy in a hurry.*

Monday is Valentine's Day and I have been left with instructions on how to finish up Jack's v-day cards. No, they are not as specific as these instructions, but they are no doubt not to be deviated from.

Adding to the degree of difficulty of the weekend is the fact that Will has a virus. No, not everybody's favorite RSV, but something else that requires the same treatment. He is not a fan of the nebulizer and I am not a fan of the fact that whatever he has seems to be getting worse. He basically just fell asleep a few minutes ago whilst playing with his toys. So, I decided we are getting an early nap in and took him upstairs.

Anyway, hurry home Mommy. We need you! And happy early Valentine's Day!

*Although, I must say that there is no truth to the rumor that we will attempt to eat Pizza for every meal while she is gone. And, for all of our struggles, I think we are getting better at these guy-times.

**This is actually Jack at Will's age. A little plumper to be sure, but a decently close match.

Getting Ready...

...for somebody to turn 3 years old :)

Brothers

Stole this idea from my friend (she said it was OK as long as I admitted I was stealing her idea!)

At 5 months:

Jack weighed 19 lbs, 6 oz and was 28 inches long (formula, and lots of it!)
Will weighs 14 lbs, 4 oz and is 26.8 inches long (breastmilk, *smile)

Jack loved sleeping with his pacifier, arms outstretched with no blankets
Will loves his thumb, swaddled with arms/legs all tucked in

Jack was sleeping from about 8:30 p.m. until 6:30 a.m.
Will is sleeping from 7:30 p.m. until 7 a.m. (*big smile!)

Jack loved his soft animal rings (still sleeps with the monkey)
Will loves a Taggie blanket and a teething ball

Jack rolled over both ways at 5 1/2 months (I was wrong in an earlier post)
Will rolled over one way at 4 1/2 months and rolls both ways now

Jack was eating rice/oatmeal cereals, squash, peas, sweet potatoes and applesauce
Will is eating rice/oatmeal cereals, bananas, applesauce and will try sweet potatoes and avocado this week!

They both love sleeping on their Daddy's chest when fussy, taking a bath, lost almost all their baby hair (remember the bald baby post here) and laugh instantly when tickled.
