Our Halloween Weekend

Photobucket

Our Halloween Weekend began on Friday with the boys, aka Diego and Baby Jaguar, off to school with their "Ghost Poop" treats for their classmates  That evening, we enjoyed some fun festivities at Walnut Woods State Park Lodge with some friends and lots of little ghost and goblins, followed by some bouncy house and slide fun at our church's Family Fun Night.

Photobucket

Saturday morning we danced, ate yummy food, and went on a hunt for ghosts with friends.  The boys were in Halloween heaven as we returned home for some much needed naps.

Photobucket

Saturday night we dropped off our Diego and Baby Jaguar at Nana and Papa's while we enjoyed a (as Jack says) "Mommy and Daddy" party as The SWAT Team.  Get it?  :)

Photobucket
Finally, Beggar's Night arrived and our cast of characters hit up the neighborhood to fill our buckets with candy and other sweet treats.  After an hour, Jack's bucket was too heavy to carry, so we found our way home for some long baths and a few more scary, spooky bedtime stories :)

Halloween 2011 was full of fun and great memories!  Can't wait for the rest of the upcoming holiday season!

Friday Phone Dump Part Two

Photobucket

Only a few short hours after posting my Friday Phone Dump post below, our first born ran into the deck and received his first (of possibly many?) set of stitches.  5 stitches in all. He was a real trooper at the doctor. Came home, pulled up his pants as high as possible, and said "I look like Papa" :)

I've been enjoying "Friday Phone Dump" posts on other blogs for some time now and I recently read an article on ways to keep your blog "interesting" and routine posting was strongly suggested.  Consistency in our posting is rare, thus, I am going to give this a try.

1. Jack put on my "work-out" hat before school the other morning and said he was going running.

2. I have been gone A LOT lately for work, so this has been my only view of the boys for way too many days lately*

3. Mom's hair comb is very entertaining.

4. Jack wearing my boots :)

*I hope having a less hectic work schedule next week will mean more pictures for next Friday's post!

While the Boss is out

Lindsey is in Seattle for "work," which appears to consist of running 5ks by the Space Needle, going to fun markets and other client development "tasks" (like wine tastings).

Anyway, she gets back on Sunday and last night, we all skyped each other.   Here is a portion of that conversation.
  • Jack: "Why are you not home? It's already Sunday"
  • Me: "What do you mean? It's Friday."
  • Jack: "No, it's Sunday, the sun was out today."
Today, I ventured outside with the boys and caught a huge break at Hy-Vee with the Police Cart.  It actually made for a pretty nice shopping experience.

Now, if you will forgive me, I must go.  Jack has just managed to plug the toilet again.  As I have stated on facebook before, Jack's poop to plunger ratio is off the charts.

The Gentleman On The Left

Despite his boyish appearance and charm, I warn you dear readers.  Be mindful in your dealings with the gentleman on the left.  This young man will do ANYTHING to avoid taking a nap.  I spent 3 hours yesterday returning him to his room every 5 minutes for a drink, to potty, for another drink, to be tucked in, for a toy, for another drink, to see if Will was sleeping too, to see if he was supposed to be taking a nap, for a drink, for a toy, for a drink, to see what I was watching, etc.  Nap time had passed by the time I just gave up.

Also, pay no attention to the angry little man on the right.  He gets angry when the paparazzi take his pictures.

Swing at noon in our pajamas?  Don't mind if I do :)

The Birthday Boy's Week

One his birthDAY, we celebrated with a, Jack-described, tiny cake with pink frosting:

And, then, to round out the celebratory week, we hosted a Fireman-themed birthday bash. The birthday boy was no longer a rookie with cake this second time around, quickly devouring as much as he could :)
